Newstead operate a 4000 head capacity finishing facility.

Lambs are fed a Total Mixed Ration using a Keenan mixer, assisting us to incorporate appropriate roughage into the animals diet allowing them to create a bolus(cud chewing) which minimises production losses through acidosis.

We are able to rely on the support of the Keenan team, our nutritionist is only 90 minutes away.

Our feedlot consultant, Chris O Neill from Wunda Park, Dalby has provided us with the benefit of his 15 years feedlotting experience.

The Newstead lot is situated on a gently sloping site and is sheltered from cold weather by tree lines.

Lambs are fed 2 to 3 times per day and weight gain is monitered to allow for optimum marketing opportunities.
